Grown in Britain is looking for auditors for the GiB and / or Plant Healthy certification schemes.

Grown in Britain is an independent, not-for-profit organisation. Our certification reduces unnecessary imports by supporting the sustainable management of UK woodlands and by driving demand throughout the supply chain

We are also a certification body for Plant Healthy, which operates across the ornamental and amenity horticulture supply chain making it easy to identify businesses and organisations that handle plant material in a manner that promotes plant health and biosecurity.

Job Overview

This is a contract position(s) auditing businesses in the UK.

Full training on the Grown in Britain standard and Plant Healthy standard will be provided.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

As an Auditor your main tasks will be to:

• Conduct robust and detailed audits according to Grown in Britain and Plant Healthy certification schemes.
• Generate high-quality audit reports, ensuring accurate, detailed, and consistent descriptions of evidence and findings.
• Communicate audit requirements to clients clearly, effectively, and concisely.
• Communicate regularly with clients ensuring that Corrective Action Requests are closed within appropriate deadlines.
• Develop and maintain strong technical expertise in Grown in Britain and Plant Healthy
  policies, standards and protocols.

Experience and Qualifications

• Higher education diploma or equivalent course (minimum course duration of 2 years) in a
  relevant discipline; forestry, horticulture.
• Minimum of 3 years overall experience (an attached CV is acceptable). For Plant Healthy, a knowledge of plants and horticulture to a working level equivalent to that of an HND.
• 2+ years of professional experience in the forest products sector – Bachelor’s degree is preferred or in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, a minimum of 4 years of professional experience in the
  forest products/Horticulture sector.
• Lead Assessor Course based on BS EN ISO9000:9001 and / or ISO 19001 principles, which
  is externally recognised and with a minimum duration 37 hours training.
• Knowledge of Grown in Britain and / or Plant Healthy is an advantage.

Proficient with business software including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Information Communication Technology tools (Zoom, Skype, Microsoft Teams, etc).
