Project Coordinator – Part Time

Part-time Project Coordinator,
three-year fixed-term contract.

Working for Grown in Britain and liaising with some of our key partners, this is an exciting opportunity to work on a stimulating new, three-year project.

We are looking for someone to coordinate the project, linking supply chains from forest to processor and working with our partner the National Trust to expand the growth, use and market for GiB certified wood. Initially the work will be in the West Midlands and NW of England with a view to expanding into the rest of the UK.

We are working with our partners to reduce unnecessary imports of timber into the UK, by identifying and bringing new woodlands into management and removing barriers to sourcing and processing wood locally. The role holder will manage a review of current resources, identify opportunities for linking supply chains and facilitate the production and use of UK timber products. This will involve working with some major landowners and manufacturers
that we already partner with, managing the relationships and expanding on the opportunities available.

The role demands excellent organisation and communication skills, managing key partners, and establishing networks to process GiB timber in the UK. Experience of managing projects is required,  as is tenacity and the ability to manage a number of key objectives through to the end within budget. Experience in forestry or a related field is required.

The role will be based in or around the NW or W Midlands for two flexible days each week, mainly home working, plus some travel required. Car and clean driving licence essential. Pay commensurate with experience.

To apply, please send your CV to Rachel Lawrence rachel@growninbritain.org by Monday 12th September.
