GiB Week Activities 2021

2021 is a pivotal point in history for trees in the UK, and that’s why we at Grown in Britain are determined to make GiB Week 2021 bigger and better than ever!

Certificate holders are invited to get involved!

From the 11th to the 17th of October 2021 we’ll be celebrating everything that British forestry and forest products have to offer – and that’s a lot! From repairing the health of nature in the face of climate change to nurturing human health and wellbeing, from revolutions in the use of timber in construction and homewares to supporting diverse rural economies – and front and centre we’ll be celebrating the people that make it all happen!

Every day of the week we’ll be focussing on a particular theme…

Sunday 17th
FOREST FEAST!

Of course, we can’t do this alone! We’re inviting all of our Certificate Holders to celebrate in their own ways too, be that in hosting a public engagement event, running a workshop, releasing a promotion on their produce, or simply by sharing their favourite forest pictures!

We’ve already have confirmation of a woodfuel seminar, woodland walk and a live charcoal burn happening during the week, plus a ministerial visit to a Plant Healthy nursery.

If you’re a certificate holder, use the schedule above as a guide for when in the week to run your activity if possible – but we don’t want to be too prescriptive, and after all the whole week is for celebrating your forestry and foresty products, so if you are planning anything all we really ask is that you let us know! Email andy@growninbritain.org with your activity ideas!
